You may have
read that there is a vast amount of money to be spent in South Derbyshire to bring superfast broadband to the area. Unfortunately
the Overseal exchange is not currently in that plan. They say that they might reconsider if enough people register an interest.
It is therefore important that everybody within the district registers if we are to have any chance of seeing fibre optics
We must urge as many people as possible to sign up for this. The appropriate form is to be found at:- http://www.superfast-openreach.co.uk/expression-gen.aspx and http://www.digitalderbyshire.org.uk/residents/register.asp
Join in the online conversation about books #DERBYSHIRE READS
Readers are being encouraged to share their recommended reads and get more out
of their local library with Derbyshire County Council's new online book club. The council's library service suggests
a topic for the #DerbyshireReads Facebook group each month and asks members to come up with books on that theme. Since
it launched in February themes have included ‘Books successfully adapted to film' and ‘The best twist in
a book' which have generated a range of reviews at the end of each month. Recommended books
can be borrowed or ordered from any Derbyshire County Council library and some can be downloaded via its eBook service.
Residents can take part in #DerbyshireReads on the county council's libraries Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/DerbyshireLibraries They can find out more about the council's Reader Group and Book Chat networks at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/libraries and about eBooks, eMagazines and eAudiobooks at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/ebooks
